My client is a leading tech start up based in the heart of London. Established in 2015, they have now expanded to over 90 countries working with a number of Blue Chip / Fortune 500 companies.
Their goal is to change the way people gather and utilise information using AI.
Due to a successful 2018, they are looking to expand their team and in turn are looking for a Lead Ruby Developer to lead their London based team.
As a lead developer you will previously have had experience leading small teams of 3 – 5 developers, be process driven with strong engineering skills. You will collaborate with teams across Europe, so communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills are vital.
This is a hands on position, but you are also responsible being a team lead means it is also responsible for guiding and mentoring your junior members, as well as ensuring that the team is efficiently designing, building and maintaining a scalable platform.
● Bsc Computer Science or relative work experience
● 6+ years commercial experience building scalable web base applications
● Proficient with Ruby
● Experience working with Elixir is beneficial.
● Experience working with AWS
● Experienced managing especially relational, but also NOSQL, databases (Bonus points for Postgres specifically)
● Desirable but not essential – React / NodeJS with Typescript.
This is the perfect opportunity for a natural problem solver with an interest in new technologies. You must be able to think on your feet, seeing all the angles to best position my client’s platform to best fit a client’s project needs. My client is keen on having characters within their team, they like to see ambitious charismatic people, no egos tho!
